The detail between rooms
A door is seen open as often as closed. Its edge, hinges and threshold belong to the composition too. This study brings those overlooked parts forward: painted timber, a narrow reveal and the traces left around a handle.
Keep a family resemblance
Pieces from different rooms can sit together without becoming identical. Look for a shared proportion or repeated colour, then allow the surfaces to differ. A quiet background gives a worn panel enough room to be noticed.
