PROVENANCE NOTE

Demonstration record based on a painted townhouse door. Add verified location, recovery date and custody notes when adapting the template.

RESTORATION NOTES

Stabilise loose paint without flattening the layered surface. Photograph edges, hinges and previous repairs before intervention.

INSTALLATION NOTES

Confirm dimensions against the prepared opening and allow for the existing frame, threshold and hinge positions.

CONDITION

Layered paint; original surface retained

Save this reference to a combined shortlist, or print the passport for a project file. Confirm dimensions, condition, availability and delivery before specification.

Blue, left uneven

The paint is strongest in sheltered areas and thinner at the lower edge. That uneven colour is the central detail of this study. The surrounding masonry gives the door a useful sense of scale.

Know what the photograph includes

Distinguish the door from its frame and threshold when preparing a listing. Add clear photographs of the reverse and edges, with any missing fittings recorded in the condition field.
